The restrictions for COVID-19 means that more staff will be working from home than ever before. It all sounds so easy, but it isn’t!
This crisis will, hopefully, bring out the best in people – but it will also bring out the worst. The data from your business is going to be transmitted by whichever Internet Service Provider (ISP) your staff use, which may be leaving the front door open to hackers getting to your data. A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a way of keeping your data more secure.
There are a number of VPNs available, at reasonable prices. Just do a Google search for VPNs for your business. Although they are relatively straight forward to set up, if your IT skills are similar to mine, there are plenty of reputable IT companies that can assist you. Some people have asked me why they should bother paying for a VPN. Well, when you leave your business, would you leave the front door open? Then why leave the front door open to your data?
We all have concerns about the long-term future of our businesses. Keeping your data safe alleviates one of those concerns.
